High-single-digit funding rounds for music-tech startups are familiar, but less so for labels. Audio Chateau Records is bucking that trend by trousering a Series A round of up to $9m.
This is the company launched in 2024 by Jared Gutstadt, co-founder of Jingle Punks, as a division of his Audio Up Media company. That launch was fuelled by a $4.5m funding round, so ACR has now raised $13.5m overall.
MBW reported that producer Poo Bear is joining the company alongside the latest round in a strategic advisory role. It’s all tied in to a model revolving around artist development and content strategies inspired by the creator world.
“I’ve seen the shift to creator culture firsthand, and I believe the next generation of successful artists will be the ones who build something bigger than their music,” is how Gutstadt put that in a statement.
“We want to give artists the creative resources, relationships and opportunities to turn their talent into lasting businesses. This investment allows us to bring more talent into that model, strengthen what we’re building and create new avenues for how artists are discovered and developed.”
