Lyric Fest will present “An die Nacht” (“To the Night”) on Nov. 7 at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church and Nov. 8 at First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.

Curated by co-artistic director Randall Scarlata, both performances begin at 3 p.m. and feature soprano Meredith Wohlgemuth, tenor William Ferguson, Scarlata, and pianist Laura Ward.

The program includes works by Schubert, Robert Schumann, Brahms, Strauss, Mendelssohn, Wolf, Berg, Webern, Schreker, and Korngold, along with Emilie Mayer’s 1870 setting of Goethe’s “Erlkönig,” Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Die Lerche,” Clara Schumann’s “Mein Stern,” and Joseph Marx’s “Selige Nacht.”

Schubert scholar Susan Youens will give a free pre-concert talk, “Night in German Romanticism,” at 2 p.m. on Nov. 7 for ticket holders. Youens will also join Scarlata on Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. for “Nacht und Träume” (“Night and Dreams”), a Lyric Session centered on Schubert’s night songs, at the German Society of Pennsylvania’s Joseph Horner Library.
